Super Fun Holiday Bucket List

0

It’s that time of year where things get busy and if you’re like me maybe you get so busy that you forget to go visit Santa. *face palm* We realized last year on Christmas Eve that we totally forgot. Not this year! This year I created a Holiday Bucket List and each day we DisplayImage2.ashxhave something fun to do! Here are some ideas for you:

  1. Visit Santa
  2. Sing Christmas carols
  3. Be a part of a Christmas gift exchange
  4. Decorate a Christmas tree
  5. Do something kind for someone
  6. Read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas
  7. Decorate Christmas cookies
  8. Drive around and look at Christmas lights
  9. Watch Christmas movies
  10. Build a snowman
  11. Write a letter to Santa
  12. Do Christmas crafts
  13. Donate toys to someone in need
  14. Build a gingerbread house
  15. Go to a Christmas party
  16. Make snowflakes, paper chains or string popcorn and cranberries
  17. Read about the birth of Jesus
  18. Go Christmas shopping
  19. Be generous
  20. Wrap presents
  21. Drink hot chocolate
  22. Kiss someone under the mistletoe
  23. Read Christmas books
  24. Wear an ugly Christmas sweater
  25. Have a snowball fight
  26. Mail Christmas cards
  27. Take a carriage ride
  28. Celebrate Advent (possibly by eating candy everyday)
  29. Decorate your house
  30. Enjoy time with loved ones

Do one of them, half of them or all of them. These are just some ideas to help remember how fun and light this season can be in the midst of the stress and chaos. Remember that
making memories and being generous is more important than receiving or giving gifts. And remember the true meaning of this season – that sweet little baby boy who was born in a manger and changed the world.

Happy Holidays, everyone!

21 cheap and easy date night ideas.

If you’re on a budget or just plain busy, it can be difficult to plan date nights. Or maybe you and your partner are super indecisive and you need ideas on what to do…here you go! I wrote all of these on popsicle sticks and stuck them in a mason jar to draw whenever we needed an idea.

  1. Mini golf – you both should be able to play for under $10 (or at least close)
  2. Picnic in the park – FREE!!
  3. Movie night – grab a Redbox movie and some microwave popcorn
  4. Play a game – my husband and I really enjoy playing Uno even though he cheats 😉
  5. Give each other massages – this one is a little risqué but can totally be fun! And it’s free.
  6. Cook together – make dinner together or bake dessert together
  7. Go for a walk – this can even include the kids, take a nice evening walk
  8. Watch the sunset – go grab some drinks or snacks and sit and watch the sunset
  9. Go for a drive – grab some coffee and drive around and listen to music
  10. Coffee date – go sit at a coffee shop and just chit chat
  11. Go bowling – this is probably the most expensive suggestion but still so fun! And it’s always possible to find coupons.
  12. Disc golf, bike ride, hike a trail – do something outdoorsy together
  13. Do a couple’s devotional together – you can order a book online or there are some free devotionals on the YouVersion app.
  14. DIY paint and partake – get your favorite drink, snacks, some canvases and paint and paint together
  15. Go to Target! – though this one may end up not being very cheap haha
  16. Play 21 questions – this can be fun for a new couple OR a vetran couple in a rut – a 21 question blog may come in the future.
  17. Go camping – camping is pretty cheap for the most part, it can definitely be done pretty cheaply!
  18. Date Box – Subscribe to the Date Box. It has great ideas and products to help create an in home date night.
  19. Play Truth or Dare – Ooh, la, la!
  20. Check Groupon – Groupon always has really good prices for restaurants, shows, movies, etc.
  21. Hanky panky – my husband made me put this one on the list 😉

Date night doesn’t have to be dinner and a movie every time. It also doesn’t always have to be super expensive. Some of our best date nights have just been simple and intentional time spent together. Make your popsicle sticks and get to dating! Enjoy! 🙂

Simple Easter Crafts

0

With Easter just a week away (how did that happen?!), I thought I’d share a couple of projects we made today. We had so much fun! Messy, messy fun!

Moon Sand

2 cups flour
¼ cup baby oil or vegetable oil – I used vegetable oil
Food coloring if you’d like. Must be oil based or powder.

Add the food coloring to the vegetable oil and mix well otherwise you’ll be wearing it on your hands like I did. Oops! Add vegetable oil to flour and mix until it feels like sand. Add more flour or oil as needed until you reach desired consistency. Voila! Moon sand!
